Together with students from the HFT Stuttgart, a former pigsty in Sekirn was converted in September 2022 and integrated into the future use of the Vienna Boys' Choir area on Lake Wörthersee. The project was supported by the UNISONO association.
Using models, the students developed concepts for the new function and conversion of the building. In the second part of the workshop, these concepts were implemented on a 1:1 basis.
In the course of the workshop, the extension was removed and found materials were reused. The windows were re-framed and fitted with new shutters. The roof was covered with self-made shingles.
The attic will thus serve as overnight accommodation for artists in residency. Space for exhibitions and events was created on the ground floor. The forecourt was designed with bricks from the demolition site. An outdoor kitchen and a barbecue area were created there from a saw blade and snow chains.
