Biofabrique Vienna is a pilot project of the Vienna Business Agency and Atelier LUMA in cooperation with the Vienna University of Technology. It functions as a network and platform for knowledge and production that processes raw and reused materials tailored to the resources and needs of the respective bioregion. The aim is to strengthen local environmental and social systems through bioregional design. In a series of workshops, the "Wiederverwenden" design studio developed a mobile wood workshop that is integrated into existing networks and can be transported using public transport. These mobile workshops are to be used throughout Austria and beyond from 2024, starting with the "European Capital of Culture Salzkammergut 2024".
