Kick-off proholz Student Trophy

Last Thursday was the kick-off event for the PROHOLZ STUDENT TROPHY 24 at the University of Technology in Vienna. This international, open student competition, organised by proHolz Austria, is dedicated to the topic of urban densification and is looking for innovative solutions, especially in the area of adding wooden storeys to three selected Viennese residential buildings from the 1960s.

The competition emphasises the performance of wood as a building material and its role in urban densification. Special emphasis is placed on the respectful treatment of existing buildings and the skilful interplay with existing urban structures. This competition pursues the goal of generating additional space, using resources efficiently and at the same time improving the existing urban environment.
