The planning area is characterized by a grown structure of buildings with different history and quality. In order to strengthen the identity of the place, it seemed particularly important to maintain the oldest component with the integrated chapel as a central element in the local structure. Due to the demolition of the annexes on both sides, the building gets back its original position as a solitary and with the function of assisted living and day care a new content, which its structure can be ideally inscribed, evolves.
The south-facing garden can be preserved and redesigned. The actual nursing home is positioned on the two properties north of Spitalgasse as a clearly readable new building. Both buildings will be developed from the newly created "Platzl" - a central element of the design - which will also open up the future development of the brewery area's possibilities for public access. The Spitalgasse itself widens to the east between the two main buildings, so that with the so-called "Gassl" as a meeting area is created. It will be animated by the bicycle and pedestrian traffic, as well as the ground floor café and multi-purpose hall.
