The 37 meters long family house is located in Vorarlberg's Rheintal between the Schattenwald and the Rheinauen. The narrow, long volume evolves due to the plot's shape and looks like a clear line among the large number of surrounding single-family houses. The floor plan is organized as an enfilade of rooms, which are dissolved at both ends into spacious, open living and working spaces. The building hosts the home of a young family and a graphics office. Living and working are thus united in the same house. At the same time thy are clearly separated by the entrance area, parking space and a loggia on the upper floor. Graphic design was an inspiration for the facade's layout. With the help of thousands of fixing screws, the anthracite-colored polyethylene mesh was fastened in such a way that a scale of meter marks divided into increments of ten is formed along the longitudinal side. Windows and openings are precisely positioned for special views into the surroundings.
