Laying-out Hall
Cemetery Hörbranz
The new laying-out hall marks the centre of the cemetery complex of Hörbranz, which was expanded in the 1980s. The front yard is surrounded by a single-storey hall and an elongated bench with an attached well. The old weeping willow provides shade and peace.
The hall is illuminated by a single narrow skylight, which emphasizes the continuous horizontal wood structure of the white glazed lightweight concrete walls. This continues in the rough sawn oak paneling in the entrance area. A newly built earth-colored stamped concrete wall forms a seperation to the neighboring elementary school and at the same time serves as a flood protection.
