The Wood Vision Space is the logical conclusion to the W.E.I.Z. innovation center. It continues the urban serial arrangement of research buildings and is divided into two structures - a flatter hall and the tower - suitable for a Europe-wide lighthouse project. Due to the requirement for expandability, there is no alternative to separating the technical center and accelerator for structural and fire protection reasons.
The two structures have a compact, simple design language and an economical footprint. The technical center forms a
two-storey, timber-clad base. A staircase core acts as a link between the hall and the laboratory. A three- or six-storey (1st or 2nd construction phase) structure with a compact floor plan is positioned on the base, forming a tower.
